Counter-Strike 2 Update: Improved Hit Feedback, Matchmaking Stats, and Map Updates

Nov 7, 2024 | 0 comments

Various adjustments have been made to bullet hit feedback in Counter-Strike 2. A bug where lag compensation would rewind target hitboxes too far back during a spray has been fixed. Players will no longer slide a short distance when jumping in place on a sloped surface. Additionally, a bug that allowed C4 to be defused from any height has been addressed.

Improvements have been made to the animation aspect as well. Fixes for IK logic have been implemented to enhance third-person feet posing, particularly on slopes. Issues where players’ feet and legs would pop out of position when exiting the bomb-plant animation have been resolved, and animation-related network bandwidth usage has been reduced.

In terms of matchmaking, more detailed stats have been added for players trying to find matches during off-peak times.

Miscellaneous changes include adjusting the Armory Pass system so that all 40 Armory Credits can now be earned by playing and earning XP, rather than receiving the first credit immediately upon activation.

Various map updates have been made, including fixing geometry in the jumping corner of the Office map. Changes to the Ancient map include reworking collision on the staircase to A-main for better player movement, removing a distracting shadow from A site, adjusting collision to match visible geometry more closely, fixing lighting bugs, reducing shadows for improved performance, fixing areas where players could get stuck, and addressing collision gaps.

On the Nuke map, lighting errors on lower graphic settings have been fixed, while a gap in geometry on the Anubis map has also been addressed.
