In the latest update for Counter-Strike released on August 8, 2024, several changes were made to the gameplay. Players in Casual game mode now earn extra XP for dealing damage to enemies in each round. A new server setting was added to control when players can vote to change the level. Voting for a level change is now only allowed at the end of the match or during the first round in Casual mode, and at the end of the match or during the first minute in Deathmatch and Arms Race modes. Other changes include restrictions on upward movement when a player is boosted on a teammate’s head, dead players cannot pick up ground weapons, the buy menu automatically closes when the switch team menu opens, and rescuing a hostage now increments objectives counter in match stats.
The UI improvements include enhanced readability of post-round damage reports, more pronounced highlighting of spec targets, and player names being visible on the expanded mini scoreboard.
In terms of maps, Mills and Assembly have been updated to the latest versions from the Community Workshop.
These changes aim to enhance the gameplay experience for Counter-Strike players and improve the overall functionality of the game.
