The next major Counter-Strike 2 (CS2) tournament, IEM Melbourne 2025, is set to commence on April 21st at the Rod Laver Arena in Melbourne, Australia. Participants will showcase their skills and strategies over the week-long tournament and vie for the prestigious Intel Extreme Masters Trophy and a substantial prize pool of $300,000 USD. The tournament is organized by the ESL FACEIT Group.
Tournament Structure
Initially in the group stage from April 21–24, the 16 different teams will fall into two groups of eight. Adopting a double-elimination format, the matches will be best-of-three. The top three teams from each group will then progress to the playoffs, with the 1st place team in each group going directly to the semifinals, while the 2nd and 3rd places proceed to the quarterfinals.
The playoff stage is a single-elimination format taking place from April 25–27. Here the Quarterfinals and semifinals will be best-of-three with the grand final being best-of-five.

Teams from the Valve Regional Standings, alongside invited squads, will compete in this tournament including top contenders such as Team Vitality, FaZe Clan, Natus Vincere (NAVI), Team Liquid, Complexity Gaming (who replaced Team Spirit), and Aurora (who replaced Eternal Fire). Other competing teams include MOUZ, Virtus.pro, BIG, and FlyQuest. Importantly, Ilya “m0NESY” Osipov will make his debut in his new jersey at this event.
Schedule Overview
The matches are spaced out over the week with the group stage matches happening from April 21–24 in a best-of-three format. The playoffs are set to occur from April 25–27. Prize Allocation
The tournament’s $300,000 prize pool is distributed among the top performers with significant amounts given to the top three, namely $125,000 to the champions, $50,000 to the runners-up, and $25,000 each to the third and fourth-place finishers. The remaining amount is spread among the 5th to 16th place finishers with varying amounts.
