New Changes to Team Liquid’s Active Lineup
Team Liquid has officially confirmed that they borrowed Kamil “siuhy” Szkaradek from MOUZ. Szkaradek, a seasoned Polish in-game leader (IGL), is substituting Justin “jks” Savage on the active roster. Along with being a replacement for Savage, he will also take over the in-game leading responsibilities once handled by Russel “Twistzz” Van Dulken. The loan agreement is valid until the conclusion of the BLAST.tv Austin Major.
The Addition of Szkaradek to the Team
Szkaradek is a 22-year-old Polish IGL who was benched by MOUZ despite having a solid track record as a Tier-1 player. Recognized for his tactical prowess and skill to improve other players’ performances, his appointment provides a remedy for Liquid’s leadership issues during this transitional phase. With Szkaradek’s entry, Van Dulken now has a chance to devote more attention to his individual gameplay.
There is a sense of anticipation around Szkaradek’s ability to raise the performance of Roland “ultimate” Tomkowiak, a promising player from Module who uses the AWPer specialty. The shared Polish background between Szkaradek and Tomkowiak, along with Szkaradek’s past record of rejuvenating MOUZ’s former AWPer, indicates the possibility of a better team synergy.
The Benching of Justin “jks” Savage
Savage’s replacement was declared just ahead of the PGL Bucharest tournament where Team Liquid will participate next. Savage had a decent run since joining Liquid in the middle of 2024, however, recent performances revealed his shortcomings. Citing a mediocre K/D ratio of 1.01, he fell out of alignment with Liquid’s objectives of attaining steady top-notch positions. The Liquid management plans to help him transition into a new team.
The Future of Team Liquid
The PGL Bucharest 2025 tournament will serve as the premiere major examination for the overhauled roster. Szkaradek’s trial will further continue throughout the BLAST.tv Austin Major come June, and the team will then evaluate making his stay a more permanent one based on achievements. The new team configuration includes the following members: Keith “NAF” Markovic, Russel “Twistzz” Van Dulken, Roland “ultimate” Tomkowiak, Guy “NertZ” Iluz, and Kamil “siuhy” Szkaradek.
Team Liquid is recovering from some inconsistency and lack of identity after multiple changes surfaced in their roster. There is a significant level of expectation and enthusiasm about the prospect of Szkaradek’s leadership reviving Liquid’s competitive strength and restoring them to the Top 5 teams globally.
