Valve has provided necessary details for the upcoming Dota 2 Short Film Contest. This annual event traditionally happens around the same time as The International, a prominent esports tournament. Participation Guidelines

To participate, entrants must comply with the following guidelines:

  • Upload a short video about Dota 2, no longer than 90 seconds, to the Dota 2 Workshop
  • Submit the video before the end of August 18, 2025, Central European Time (CET)
  • Previous contents have had a minimum resolution requirement of 720p
  • Contestants can employ any form of animation or live-action techniques; Source Filmmaker usage is optional

Awards and Prizes

Impressive cash rewards await the winners of the Dota 2 Short Film Contest 2025. The top three contestants will earn $25,000, $10,000, and $5,000, respectively. Each finalist from the 4th to 10th place will receive $500.
