Patch 1.1.1 Details for 2XKO
Patch 1.1.1 has been announced for 2XKO, and is scheduled for release on January 20, 2026. It will introduce the first season of gameplay to players across every platform. This patch will also bring key systemic updates, include changes to Break advantages, the meter economy, and assists, as well as introduce Ranked Mode to the game.
Major Gameplay Modifications in Patch 1.1.1
In response to feedback from the gaming community, several key gameplay modifications have been incorporated in Patch 1.1.1.
- Break Adjustments: Patch 1.1.1 will allow opponents to recover from Break hits 10 frames earlier, reducing the rewards for players, especially in Handshake Tag situations. Additionally, there will be more consistency as air collision and hurtboxes will be unified. Fundamentally, these modifications aim to tone down aggressive Break pressure, making defense in the game fairer and slowing the pace of matches.
- Meter Economy Rework: Advanced combo meter gain will be reduced, particularly after 11 seconds of play. Additionally, spending meter will result in an 8-second gain penalty. The Limit Strike meter bonus will be cut from 40 to 25. This will build gray health in certain scenarios, emphasising careful pace over flashy combos.
- Assist and Tag Tweaks: The damage penalty for Double Down and Super Tag (including Sidekick) will rise to 30% from 20%. The 2X Assist cooldown will be doubled to 4 seconds and will begin immediately after the player leaves the screen. Handshake Tags will now allow for grey health accumulation, thereby reducing damage that cannot be recovered.
- Character-Specific Changes: The character Fuse (Juggernaut) will begin each round with a Break meter at 75%, which is neither at 100% nor resetting between rounds. Other characters such as Jinx, Ekko, Yasuo will be tuned to the roster average, while slight buffs will be given to Braum and Blitzcrank. Additionally, Ahri and Vi’s combo consistency will be improved.
- Air Blocking and Inputs: Players will now be able to perform actions mid-air after blocking. The duration of throw invulnerability after aerial block will be increased to 8 frames from 5. Furthermore, Retreating Guard will be simplified to just holding back.
Additional Features and Quality Improvements in Patch 1.1.1
Patch 1.1.1 will also introduce Ranked Mode into 2XKO. Intentionally longer queue times will accompany the launch of this mode, as they are designed to match the new pacing and influence neutral play and meter management. Several quality improvements will also be added.
- Ranked Mode Launch: Introducing a competitive mode for players to test their skills against others.
- Quality Improvements: These include enhanced readability of the assist meter, confirmation on game exit, an in-client News section, an increased Credit cap of 12,000 and a narrator for UI accessibility. Various bugs affecting Break recovery, projectiles, and inputs will also be fixed.
The proposed changes in Patch 1.1.1 aim to move 2XKO towards balanced and strategic gameplay, moving away from the oppressive loops. This has been illustrated well in community discussions following the game’s initial release on October 7, 2025. As of now, no details of further patches or updates for season 1 are available.
