Overview of Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 Season 1’s Battle Pass
Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 Season 1’s Battle Pass provides various rewards spread across a 100+ tier progression system. It’s a shared system between Black Ops 7 and Warzone. You can access new weapons, operators, skins, and cosmetic rewards. There are both free and premium tracks in the pass. Furthermore, the Battle Pass also introduces some progression improvements from earlier games designed to encourage quicker early unlocks and better reward pacing.
Details about the Battle Pass Structure
The Battle Pass is organized into different sections, referred to as “pages,” each offering several rewards that you can unlock by using earned tokens. By completing all standard pages, players can unlock a final completion page which includes additional cosmetic rewards and bonus items.
Both free and premium rewards are earned on this pass. All new base weapons are on the free track so anyone can earn them just by playing and progressing. If a player chooses to purchase the premium pass, it provides access to added operator skins, blueprints, cosmetics, COD points, and boosts.
Main Rewards and New Content
The Season 1 pass contains over 100 earnable items and increases roughly to 119–130 rewards, inclusive of premium and BlackCell extras. These rewards range from operator skins, weapon blueprints, COD points, emblems, calling cards, stickers, charms, GobbleGums, XP tokens, to loading screens. Two new weapons are available on the free track: the Kogot-7 submachine gun and the Maddox RFB assault rifle, with the latter being a return from Black Ops 4 with an updated profile. Completing the pass also provides additional bonuses such as extra COD Points and at least one high-rarity weapon blueprint.
Premium Operators And Options
Buying the standard Season 1 Battle Pass grants instant access to Dorne as a playable operator, alongside his initial skin and a 10% Battle Pass XP boost. The premium “BlackCell” upgrade is an expensive option that adds an exclusive operator named Scorn, one instant mastercraft weapon blueprint, and some extra tier skips along with exclusive cosmetics. BlackCell owners also acquire several exclusive operator skins and weapon blueprints throughout the pass, thereby increasing the total count of available cosmetic rewards upon completion of all tiers. These exclusive items include additional appearances for operators such as Dorne and others from the Black Ops 7 roster.
Changes in Progression during Season 1
In contrast to earlier versions of Black Ops, Season 1’s Battle Pass is engineered so that the initial pages require fewer items to access the high-value rewards. This change results in quicker unlocks of desirable items. The latter pages of the Battle Pass contain a higher volume of cosmetic items as players make further progress in the pass. Now, players can earn Battle Pass tokens by completing daily challenges across multiple modes including multiplayer, Zombies, Warzone, co-op, and endgame content. This versatile approach allows players to focus on their preferred modes while still advancing and unlocking rewards efficiently.
A Comparison Between Standard And BlackCell
The cost for the standard Battle Pass is about 1,100 COD Points, which is considered the entry cost. In comparison, the BlackCell Upgrade costs more, nearly three times as much depending on the region. The standard pass immediately unlocks Dorne as an operator coupled with an XP boost upon purchase, whereas the BlackCell Upgrade adds Dorne and Scorn as exclusive operators. The BlackCell upgrade also adds extra tier skips on top of the standard amount. The standard pass provides access to core pass rewards only, while the BlackCell upgrade offers extra operator skins, weapon blueprints, HUD theme, clan tag, and other cosmetics, exclusively for BlackCell.
