Introduction to Rainbow Six Siege Easter Egg Event

Surprisingly, Rainbow Six Siege gamers discovered an Easter egg search designed by Ubisoft. This major video game developer used multiple maps to hide intriguing blueprints that players could put together to access an unrevealed award. The commencement of this event was a mysterious message on the official Siege Twitter account, posted on December 9th. This eventually turned into a large-scale treasure hunt in the game, sparking excitement in the community about the hidden objects spread throughout the maps.

Further Details About The Event

According to information gathered from various sources, the Easter egg hunt event is connected to the Rainbow Six Siege X Borderlands collaboration keenly called the ‘Psycho Mask Hunt’. This crossover event was time-bound and occurred for roughly three weeks from 15th July 2025. In this specialized Easter egg hunt, players had to search for three small Psycho Bandit masks camouflaged on every map – one located outside and the other two, indoors.

The Hunt for Psycho Masks

The masks were to be found on all operational maps, totaling 72 obscure mask locations all through the game. To earn the reward, players did not need to locate all masks – the only criteria were to identify and shoot at a mask in five different public games under categories like Quick Play, Unranked, or Ranked. As soon as a mask was shot in a qualifying match, it was counted as an accomplishment for the challenge. The process could be repeated on the same map but necessity demanded that it be in a separate match.

Rewards and Players’ Disappointment

Players who accomplished the challenge were awarded a “Shining Emblem” weapon charm and 1000 Battle Pass points (BP). Unfortunately, several players found the reward to be a letdown. The issues stated were majorly two-fold: firstly, the free charm was identical to the one present in the paid Mozzie Psycho bundle. Many players felt that this devalued their bundle purchase and made the prize seem common. Secondly, despite the grand promotion of a ‘massive Easter egg hunt’, the actual in-game requirement was observed to be very minimal, involving just five successful hunts. Hence, the 72 mask locations were perceived as irrelevant information rather than a structured progression.

Background – Siege and Easter Eggs

Past instances show that Siege has a rich background with complex Easter eggs such as the poker chip evolving Easter egg, multi-step map secrets, hidden chibis, and multi-map story hints that take hours to be resolved. Their rewards are usually doled out in bits of lore and novelty, exciting the players. Dedicated Easter egg hunters, such as Titanium Rolo, who maintains a record of every Easter egg on every map, have built anticipation that new hunts will be comprehensive, cryptic, and collaborative. However, in the case of the Psycho Mask Hunt, it was pure cosmetics, easily completed, and not particularly creatively designed. This led to a sense of disappointment with the event.
