Introduction to VALORANT Mobile
VALORANT Mobile – a popular video game, is getting ready to introduce an integrated esports infrastructure. The mobile version comes with its “Premier mode” and a dedicated “E-Sports Hub”. These features aim to create a seamless transition from chill gaming to professional esports competitions.
In comparison, the Premier mode in the mobile version resembles the PC version of VALORANT, which, importantly, has already ushered more than 50 teams into the Challengers leagues since its inception in 2024. The gameplay includes forming teams of five players and challenging opponents in matches scheduled in advance. A team gets a rank in different divisions centered on their performances.
Launch of VALORANT Mobile in China
China witnessed the launch of VALORANT Mobile on August 19, 2025. The makers of the game, Riot Games, and Tencent invested a whopping $200 million in the esports ecosystem to support tournaments and events. This commitment aims to facilitate a smooth transition to professional esports. These efforts funneled into support for competitions at the national and university-level as well as co-branded events spread over the next three years.
VALORANT Mobile: Release Timeline and Testing
The official release in China occurred after a series of closed betas, such as the Omega Limited Test in June 2025 and the pioneer/content creator tests in May. The release was a huge success, becoming the most phenomenal mobile launch of 2025 in China. The game topped in terms of daily active users (DAUs) and gross revenue in its first month alone, outshining other mobile game launches.
Though a global release date is not yet confirmed, sources predict a potential beta or soft launch towards the end of 2025, or a full game rollout sometime in late 2025 or early 2026. China’s market served as a testing ground, with future plans involving wider betas for Southeast Asia, India, and Latin America throughout 2025.
The game was initially announced on April 21, 2025, with a trailer. The open beta date was shared at ChinaJoy 2025.
VALORANT Mobile: Launch Features and Content
The game features 18 agents and 7 core maps, plus 2 mobile-exclusive Team Deathmatch (TDM) maps. There are 10 game modes available at launch, including Competitive, Spike Rush, Deathmatch, and Team Battle on a China-inspired map among others. The technical aspects have been wholly reconstructed for mobile platforms, supporting 120 FPS on flagship devices. It also includes dynamic scoring, map-wide pings, and a quick-chat function. More than 60 million pre-registrations marked the launch of the Chinese beta.
Esports and Investment Details
Riot and Tencent together invested approximately 1.5 billion CNY ($200 million USD) in the course of three years into setting up the infrastructure, organizing esports events, encouraging content creators, and making optimizations. Following the launch, PC VALORANT observed an increase in DAUs and profits via esports-themed content. It is important to note that further updates will likely be unveiled at events such as Valorant Champions or Gamescom.
