The RE:LO:AD 2025 tournament is a significant event in the esports circuit for Rainbow Six Siege. Ubisoft and BLAST jointly organize this anticipated competition. Tournament Format

RE:LO:AD 2025 introduces a novel approach to competitive gaming with two key elements – the Bullet system and strategic cards.

Understanding the Bullet System

Under the Bullet system, each team starts with six Bullets. These Bullets serve as a determinant of the team’s rankings, standing, and survival within the tournament. Prior to each match, teams wager their Bullets. A victory returns their wagered Bullets, plus additional ones based on performance. However, losing a match causes the deduction of the wagered Bullets. If a team’s reserve goes below zero, they face automatic elimination.

The maximum number of Bullets that can be wagered varies across different rounds. During the first two rounds, a team can wager up to two Bullets, which then increases to a maximum of eight Bullets for rounds three to five.

Breakdown of the Tournament Phases

The tournament is split into two phases – a group stage, and the playoffs.

In the group stage, there are five rounds of best-of-one matches. After the initial round, where opponents are chosen at random, each team chooses their opponent. The top four teams with the highest Bullet reserves advance to the playoffs while the bottom four face elimination unless a “Duel Card” is used.

In the playoffs, the top eight teams participate in a single-elimination tournament. The quarterfinals and semifinals are structured as best-of-three matches, and the finals are a best-of-five.

How do the Strategic Cards work?

Strategic Cards exist to add an extra layer of complexity to the tournament. These include “Automatic Cards” such as Survivor, Flawless Victory, and Eliminator, each of which allow teams to earn extra Bullets under certain conditions.

“Single-Use Cards” are also available. They offer unique functionalities such as rejecting a direct challenge (Chicken), boosting Bullet reward in a match (Extended Mag), or allowing a one-versus-one duel to reset Bullet reserves if facing elimination (Duel).

Tournament Schedule

The group stage begins on May 10th, 2025, and continues until May 14th, with one round played daily. The playoffs occur between May 16th and May 18th, featuring the quarterfinals, semifinals, and finals.
