Esports World Cup 2025

The Esports World Cup (EWC) 2025 will host some of the best teams in VALORANT who will compete for a chance to win a significant prize of $1,250,000 USD. The tournament is set to begin on the 8th of July. A total of 16 teams will be participating in the tournament.

Teams Qualified for EWC 2025

For the EWC 2025, each VCT region will have four representatives at the tournament. The first two teams have qualified directly through their achievements in the VALORANT Champions Tour (VCT) regional leagues. Eight teams in total have qualified this way, including the top teams from the Americas region (G2 Esports and Sentinels), China region (Xi Lai Gaming and Bilibili Gaming), EMEA region (Fnatic and Team Heretics), and the Pacific region (Rex Regum Qeon and Gen.G Esports).

In addition to the direct VCT qualifiers, several teams have secured their spots through regional qualification tournaments. Two such teams emerged from the China region: EDward Gaming and Titan Esports Club. In the case of EDward Gaming, they won their place after defeating FunPlus Phoenix and Trace Esports in the China Evolution Series: Act 2 X Asian Champions League.

Qualification Process

The qualification process for the EWC VALORANT 2025 tournament is structured as follows:

• Two top teams from the four regional VCT Leagues Stage One events receive direct qualification
• The top two teams from additional qualifiers hosted in each VCT region also earn tournament spots
• The China qualifier, named the China Evolution Series: Act 2 X Asian Champions League, specifically used a single-bracket direct elimination format with series of 3 games

Ongoing Qualifications

The process of qualification is still in progress for the Americas region. The active qualifier, taking place from May 16 to 25, 2025, features 9 teams vying for tournament spots. A similar process is underway in the EMEA region, where Team Liquid and BBL Esports have already secured direct access to the playoff stage. The EMEA VCT league’s process is still in operation due to technical issues arising during the group stage.

Once all qualifications have been concluded, the final lineup at the tournament will feature 16 teams. The EWC 2025 tournament will be taking place in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
