Tyson “TenZ” Ngo Comes Back to Competitive VALORANT
Tyson “TenZ” Ngo, a remarkable player of Valorant, is making a brief return to competitive gaming via Cubert Academy. Cubert Academy is the academy team for Sentinels, and TenZ will be with this team for their Stage 2 North American (NA) Challengers playoff run. The return, announced on May 20, 2025, came as a surprise to the gaming community as TenZ had previously retired eight months back to focus on content creation and streaming.
Before retiring, TenZ had a remarkable five-year career in competitive Valorant where he made a name for himself by securing numerous victories for Sentinels, including two international trophies. His final year with Sentinels was, in particular, impressive as the team clinched the Masters Madrid title and secured a spot in the top four at the Champions stage. This was noted as Sentinels’ best performance at such a prestigious stage.
Cubert Academy, where TenZ is making his temporary return, was founded in November of the preceding year. Initially, Yassin “Reduxx” Aboulalazm was the central player for the For Those Who Dare qualifiers. Later, it was officially recognized as the academy team for Sentinels ahead of this year’s NA Challengers. This team is a blend of upcoming talents and seasoned veterans led by Travis “tdawgg” Regan.
Strong Performance by Cubert Academy
So far, Cubert Academy’s performance has been commanding. They secured a place in the top four during Stage 1, defeating the newly-inducted ENVY roster before eventually losing to M80, the runners-up of the tournament. For the duration of Cubert Academy’s playoff run in the Valorant Challengers League, TenZ will serve as a substitute. The team is currently participating in the Upper Quarterfinals against Winthrop University in the Challengers League 2025 North American ACE: Stage 2 playoffs.
TenZ’s comeback is generating immense anticipation and excitement in the Valorant community. He is hailed as one of the best players in the history of the game, and fans are thrilled to witness his return, even if just for a brief duration.
