VCT EMEA Stage 1 2025 Tournament

The VCT EMEA Stage 1 2025 tournament involves 12 teams in a two-part competition. There is a group stage followed by playoffs. The teams battling it out in this tournament aim for a prestigious place in the Masters Toronto.

Group Stage Format

In the group stage, teams are organized into two distinct groups. Six teams in Group Alpha and six teams in Group Omega compete using a single round-robin format. The teams that perform best – the top four from each group – advance to the playoffs. The group winners have a little edge here as they get a bye straight into the Upper Bracket Semifinals. The teams ranked second and third start in the Upper Bracket Round 1.

In Group Alpha, Team Heretics and Fnatic lead with a perfect score of 4-0. Natus Vincere is third with a standing of 3-2. Team Vitality is currently in the fourth spot, the last qualifying position, with a scoreline of 2-3.

For Group Omega, BBL Esports holds the number one spot with a 4-1 record. Followed by Team Liquid with a 3-1 standing. FUT Esports and Karmine Corp are in contention for the remaining playoff positions.

Playoff Format and Qualification

The playoffs, a crucial stage of the tournament, include the top four teams from each group. These eight teams compete in a hybrid-elimination bracket format. The main target of this part of the tournament is to land among the top three spots, qualifying for Masters Toronto.

The playoff structure is designed such that the group winners get to skip ahead. They are advanced directly to the Upper Bracket Semifinals. Teams placed second and third take their positions at the Upper Bracket Round 1, and the fourth-placed teams start in the lower bracket.
